Hi eden77,

Welcome to the forum.

I don't know if you already know about it, but there's the Structured Educational Program that you could do to help you recover; here's a link to it http://www.tmswiki.org/ppd/Structured_Educational_Program (Structured Educational Program). And there's also Alan Gordon's 'Pain Recovery Program' http://www.tmswiki.org/forum/painrecovery/ (Pain Recovery Program).

I'd also recommend going to the 'success stories' forum to read about people's recoveries to give you encouragement http://www.tmswiki.org/forum/forums/support-subforum.26/ (Support Subforum). If you read around the forums on this website you will see that people use various techniques to recover (in addition to what Dr Sarno recommended) - meditation, mindfulness, deep breathing exercises, affirmations, visualization techniques, qigong (if you can stand up okay and move your arms around) and so on...I think you'll find this website with its forums to be an absolute mine of information.

There are also other books on TMS that you could consider reading - I'm still on my own TMS journey to recovery and, for instance, I'm finding Scott Brady's book Pain Free For Life very helpful https://www.amazon.co.uk/Pain-Free-...F8&qid=1541882566&sr=1-1&keywords=scott+brady.

I'm also finding calming my nervous system down by doing yoga nidra good; it doesn't involve any movement - you can do it sitting or lying down; this is the book I'm using https://www.amazon.co.uk/Daring-Res...TF8&qid=1541882771&sr=1-8&keywords=yoga+nidra and here are the videos associated with the book that you can use free of charge https://www.soundstrue.com/store/daringtorest/yoganidrameditations (Daring to Rest: Yoga Nidra).

I hope something I've said will be of some interest and help to you.

All good wishes,

BloodMoon
