I think doing EMDR at home is worth a shot and pretty low risk, especially if you set time aside before and after to warm up / cool down...

That's true of any therapy. One type is never going to work for everyone. Unfortunately it's a process of finding the right fit.

It's not a scam. I'm sorry it didn't work for you, but it has helped many people with dealing with anxiety and depression from trauma.
