I am wondering if stress has a great deal to do with my throid. I went through a period of not wanting to eat but forcing myself to as I have always been nutritionally aware of what I was putting in my body. I think I was actually starving myself without realizing it. I also feel that time is running out for me at 73 and my everyday is spent caregiving for my son. I don't know how I can leave him in a nursing home as he is only 50. I don't know which would be more stressful, him staying here or thinking about him in a nursing home. he would not understand my doing that either. Guess I'm afraid he'd hate me. I love him dearly but, always the but, I want a life too. Am I just selfish. I know I am rambling on because I'm nervous concerning going to my oncologist in a few hrs to get results of my CT Scan from colon ca. Perhaps with good results today I can calm down. Thank You for your kindness.

I believe stress can cause almost anything. Like I mentioned earlier, you can't stay in that state ongoing, your body won't heal, regardless of what healthy food you put in it. You are faced with a stressful decision certainly....you have a choice b/t two things and neither are good solutions...continue to care for your son at the expense of your own life or place him somewhere he won't understand. No "right" answer. You are forced to choose one or let go of trying to make that decision and live with the reality instead of arguing with it. Hope your scan results turn out as you hope.
