I get the columns —what he wants you to do. It’s a ton of homework. Basically column one is like what the SEP is. Exploring your emotionsl world. Column two is exploring why you don’t think you can heal from TMS. You believe in TMS, but you don’t think You can ever get better. You eliminate those doubts. And then number three, You explore what in your world has kept you powerless because this contributes to TMS. That’s the homework and I may or may not try to do all that homework. But I really do love what he says about powerlessness; that spoke to me a lot. And I’m going to try to fix it.

I haven't either read Ratner's book nor done his method, but watched several of his videos and very much liked his power column. It's something that needs better attention in the TMS world, usually just being brushed aside as "go live your life". I would step on the threadmill and play his power column videos, and that helped me a lot. The thing that he teaches that didn't click to me was the difference between acute and chronic symptoms. Anyway every now and then I watch a video of his.

I do very much think he's saying something strong there. Just couldn't get past how verbose he was being about it, I guess, which is weird for me. I need to take another stab at it, stepped away for a bit to jump back to a fiction novel.

@Rusty Red I basically took a few things from a few different TMS "worlds" and utilized them at different stages of my TMS work. So if something doesn't speak to you in a book, other things might.
Eg. Steve Ozanich's book didn't resonate with me at all at first, and where he is at now (lots of Dispenza type stuff) is way outta my territory but as I went along in my healing, some things he wrote did speak to me. Lots of Alan Gordon's book didn't speak to me, but some things did - especially his personal anecdotes - I keep those with me.\

When I have watched Dan Ratner's youtube segments, I thought he was making a much bigger and more difficult deal of Sarno's work than it needed to be. I do like the idea of the "power column" it is probably the earliest part of TMS work I caught on to (way before I knew of him).

I think most of us personalize our approach to what is meaningful to us. Take Sarno's theory and along the way find the things that speak to us the most whether the ideas come from someone else, or we develop them ourselves.

@Cactusflower, Dispenza was WAY out of my league. LOL I started one book and was like yeah, this one isn't for me. I hear you for sure, there is a bit from a lot of different works that I utilize and appreciate.
