    As counterintuitive as it may seem, "giving up" on healing may be a step in the right direction for you. I don't know your personal circumstances, but if you can find ways to make at least some peace with your symptoms and try to focus a little more on ways of making your life more enjoyable (regardless of pain/symptoms), it should reduce the importance you've given to healing, and by extension the importance you give your pain.

    It's tough to give up the fight, especially because of the fear that if we aren't trying to get better then what are we really doing? Will we ever get better if we don't try? Will we end up permanently stuck? In reality, we are only as stuck as we make ourselves out to be, and the "healing" process occurs much more freely when we separate ourselves from it.
