..........get stung by a centipede! :D:eek::arghh:

Got stung last night at 2am and the pain was soooo severe that my TMS pain went away. I guess we only have so much capacity for pain.

Note: I do not recommend this method.

Sorry to hear this, @Booble ! I know how painful that is.

That affirms Sarno's theory of TMS that we create physical pain to avoid feeling emotional pain--we only have so much capacity for pain.

    Hope you feel better soon.

This is due to the gate control theory. The brain only has limited access. If a novelty occurs, nociceptive pain stops being emitted for a few minutes or a while. It used to happen to me when I would pinch my arms.

I've tried in the past to will a certain nagging pain into another area like into my toe or something. I can do it for a few seconds but that's it.
The centipede pain has waned and luckily my TMS pain I've been dealing with is slow to come back. It's been about 36 hours. Nice break, though I feel it starting to try and break through. Trying to talk myself into if it was gone during the other pain there is no reason for it to be here.

No sé qué pasó realmente.
