Why people get so angry when I mention TMS?

My friends from Brazil reacted positively too, but they don't seem to change, meaning they didn't do the researches I told them to do haha

I do find it interesting that some people embrace the idea while others reject it hard. I'm guessing people who have either had surgeries already or spent a lot on doctors and meds are the worst, they don't want to hear that they wasted a lot of time and money and they feel insulted like you are telling them the pain isn't real it's all in your head. You can only help people who are open to being helped. I just posted about Dr. Daniel Amen releasing a new book next month about mind body pain, I have no idea if it will be a good book but if it is it could make these ideas more widely known and accepted which hopefully will lead to healing. Only time will tell.

I embraced.tms but it made me worse.

    I'd be skeptical,

It's almost like people are so positive about it, but when it doesn't work there's literally no one to go to for help, better off with mainstream, they seem more grounded.

Has the modern medical model offered you any solutions to your CFS? Not being sarcastic, genuinely curious because I know you’ve been trying and struggling for a bit.

In terms of the last part, often that's the case because TMS is the last resort (because of such skepticism). I was skeptic too but I was out of options so I put that aside. I'm sure I speak for most people here but I just want people to get better - I couldn't care less how it is done. If I think someone has a structural problem that is fixable through the medical model, I'll tell them and if it works I'll celebrate with them :)

It hasnt but they've always been honest and realistic with me.

The TMS stuff has always given me a lot of hope and excitement but delivered very little and left me feeling confused and it's usually expensive

Well I hope you find your answer one of these days. I understand the frustration.

I just want to add that I recovered from CFS using the TMS methodology and it didn't cost me a penny. It was all available using free resources on the web... some of them right here on this website. Don't let one person's negative experience dissuade you from using a tool that has been miraculous for millions of people.

I had a very bad experience with steroid injections for my back pain. Yet, I don't go on discussion forums and trash this procedure. That procedure cost me hundreds of dollars and my insurance company thousands. It turned out that a $10 book permanently cured me.

Thank you! This is such a great and helpful list. It can be really frustrating at times, and seeing a list like this breaks it down in a good way for me.

This is so true as well! :

Oh, wow, @BloodMoon I didn't catch that AI developed that list--missed reading that first part of your post.
    Very interesting.

The list was kinda complex and straightforward as well (if that makes any sense :)) in the way it was written, but I figured you must've put some time and thought into developing it that way.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I put some examples of the reasons I thought it happens into perplexity.ai and asked it to suggest any other possibilities, then to phrase it all as a forum post. It saves a lot of time — and I often find it comes up with interesting angles I hadn’t even considered before!
