    yes, indeed. it is like you are becoming outcome dependent on achieving outcome independency. :) It is good to know though that it is or can be a longer process to get there.

    I think a better way to look at outcome independency is seeing it as a result of the process of allowance.

    Allowance is the exercise of having a quick a break, observing the symptoms and letting them be. Then you observe the automatic thoughts and emotions that come together, and let them be too. But you don't engage with them. It's pretty much like a middle term between mindfulness and somatic tracking. It's also a very good training at dissociation and ego dissolution. You see the relation between symptoms and thoughts as a third person, even if for a short while.

    @feduccini
    I think your process works for most people except those who focus on symptoms and thoughts about them have become OCD like in intensity.
    I know this was a huge stumbling block for me until @Baseball65 mentioned the idea of simply telling your brain to stop and then redirecting thoughts. I figured if Dr. Sarno suggest we forcefully turn our mind to sources of irritation, then forcefully turning the mind away from sources of perseveration made sense. It’s been the only thing that’s worked for me.

    Thanks @Cactusflower , maybe this technique would've helped me around 6 six months ago when my mind was bonkers. The Dare technique took me out of there though.
