So hello. I just found out about TMS yesterday and I'm just starting the program today. I can say I'm 98% convinced I have TMS. I wrote down a Evidence List and read it to convince myself completely. The specks of doubt come from the muscle tension in my fingers I get when I try using them, which make me think it's a structure problem.

To be quite honest, I'm doing a lot better already. I've had RSI in both arms for the past 3 months. Just from going on a variety of websites about TMS yesterday, reading and listening as much as I can about it, I'm actually typing! Which I haven't done regularly for the past 2 months. I still have pain in my arms, but I tell myself that there's nothing wrong with my arms, the pain is from my brain.

I've also been taking antidepressants for about 2 weeks for the pain. I'm not sure if it's okay to stop cold turkey even though I've only been taking it for a short time. I'll just taper off it.

So far so good in terms of pain. :D

    Hi SwirlSwirl,

Welcome and congrats for taking the step to consider TMS as a treatment option. I am in a similar position to you, in that I have only just started the program. This is the best week I have had pain wise in 9 months.

I certainly don't recommend going cold turkey on the ADs as it could lead to withdrawal headaches which aren't that pleasant. Also as you start to explore the emotional connection to your pain it could be that the ADs help smooth that process. Definitely a choice to make with the advice of a professional, be it a GP or a Psychologist.

Hi Andrew. Congrats to you too! We're during pretty good so far. :)

I've only been taking the ADs in 20mg doses so I'll go back to 10mg starting tomorrow and see how that goes. That's what my neurologist and pharmacist said to do if I want to get off them if I haven't been taking them for more than a month.

Swirl Swirl, have you fund mine and others replies to you in your other post? I would suggest to you to keep it simple for you and responders and combine your threads since they are so similar or maybe
Forest the Mod could combine them.
