I did the SEP in 2021 and it changed my life. I Journaled, I cried, I Yelled. I´m still 80-90% better, but want to close the gap. Lots of focus on child years, closest family and my personality traits. Sometimes I got 100% well and super relaxed, but the same night I get nightmares and some small symptoms back. Now I´m constantly cruising the 80-90% better from where I was.

I´m in mid-life and its a grind. Young kids, career, etc. LOTS of responsibilities. Being successful, being a good father, being a good husband (and the list goes on). The perfect and good. I´m irritated and have some hip/back/leg pain. But I´m not really irritated, am I? I´m probably angry as hell. Sometimes it comes up in arguments with my wife (which is not optimal...)

I just inactivated my social media. I was building an image of this good father and husband etc. You get a dopamine hit from the likes, but it is probably detrimental. What a pressure to the mind. Building an image of all this, another thing to live up to. Opposite to freedom. I´m afraid though to loose some social interactions, since most people communicate this way now. Let´s see.

    Hi @Hedger,
Welcome back. And congratulations on your great success! You sound very self-aware, like a veteran TMSer. Many people do the SEP twice. Maybe it will help close that gap you’re looking for. I think it’s awesome you gave up social media. For one thing, electronics can trigger danger to our minds— no wonder we’re all messed up! And you are very right that it’s probably very an anger-inducing to have to portray a perfect image to the world constantly. I’m excited to hear what you have to contribute to our conversations! You should think of yourself as a success story already. And, I wish you all the best in getting a 100% free of TMS.
