Very well produced video which gets more & more interesting as it gets into the different factors that affect the brain & pain. These include psychological, emotional , sensory, motivational, perceptional etc...
And also how pain can be reversed even if it is chronic. Complements the idea of TMS nicely.

I posted this on the video forum but I think it will reach more people here.

The more we understand pain, the less we fear it & the more able we are at handling it.

Horizon make some really interesting documentaries. There were two good ones recently. One was called The Power of the Placebo.

I was fascinated by the woman who had IBS and was told she would be given a placebo drug so she wasn't at all duped. She actually experienced a significant reduction in her symptoms but when she was then told she could have no more of these 'fake' pills, her symptoms returned with a vengeance.

Yes isn't it extraordinary! This whole mind body thing is very interesting & we must all find our own placebo to heal.

This really is a fantastic documentary on the placebo effect.
I watched most of it because it's long and will see the rest later.

I wonder how many pills people take are just placebos but they are charged big bucks anyway.
