Day 3 Exercise - Running when pain/discomfort is more internal and often cyclically triggered

    TLDR:
Would love to be pointed toward exercise success stories for things like GERD, SIBO, Endometriosis to help with more internal tissues (as opposed to back/shoulders etc), cyclical and food-based issues

    ---------------------

I'm age 44 and in hindsight I've had various TMS maladies of varying severity since I was six months old, so I've always had something 'wrong with me'.

The most recent issue I've been having are endometriosis symptoms for the past 4 months. I've always had bad PMS but nothing as bad as this. The symptoms kicked in when my period came back after an 8 month hiatus which I blamed on perimenopause, but in all likelihood was actually burnout and stress.

The fatigue, cramps and pelvic pain have had me out of action for approx 10 days of the month the past 4 months.. UNTIL.. last week a few things obviously pieced together in my head and I started looking at it through the mindbody lens and low and behold I managed to get the symptoms under wraps. Hence me knuckling down on the SEP as I need to get a handle on this.

After having to take a hiatus from yoga for a series of TMS issues (again, identified in hindsight) including wrist pain, shoulder pain, burstitus, GERD and SIBO, I've now managed to get back on top of my yoga to a better place i've been in in quite some time. I can even do a full back bend again which is brilliant. But having started doing walk/runs earlier this year I really want to get them going again as I love the tension release and endorphins. Plus just the feeling of running in nature.

However, I stopped as I started getting pains in my butt and pelvis, and now that I've started again I'm getting twingey pain in my butt again (not that bad, very sporadic, and can see a link with thought patterns). No I haven't gotten it checked out yet (am waiting for an appointment). But working off my back history so many ailments have come and gone with me being perfectly fine, so I am trying to tell myself there is no reason why this is different and that humans are literally built for running for lengthy periods of time. Also there are so many women who have been treated for endo (including full hysterectomies) and their symptoms have come back. So diagnosis and treatment is no sure thing and it's one of the main reasons I realized TMS was probably a factor.

I think what I find challenging is the lack of success stories around the more varied symptoms TMS cases as opposed to back pain etc. It makes it harder to convince yourself, particular in this case when I'm absolutely expecting some pain to start and it's also attached itself to my menstrual cycle so not present all the time. I also overthink what I eat and jump to blame food items very easily for any discomfort I have

Granted this may also be a haemorrhoid or something as I did have one before - I will still go get it checked out! I would just love to hear if people had success stories related to things like endo, GERD, etc.

    Thanks!

Have you checked out our success stories page? Also, there’s a search engine—the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner. This forum is 12 years old. There are thousands of posts on any given topic. When I first came on here that’s all I did. Search topics. It helped solidify my belief in TMS. But it’s also good to learn at some point that all TMS is TMS. It all heals the exact same way. Exactly. It’s a mind-body thing that manifests in people’s bodies differently —Because the TMS brain (I like to call it the lizard, because it’s a primitive brain!) wants to scare you— so whatever will distract you from your emotions is what you will be given. That’s why it’s different for everybody.
