No, I was happy to stop it. I never worked my way up to the full dose. It messed with my mind so much, that I stopped it. I also never found the dosage I worked up to actually reduced any pain... so there was no reason not to stop it for me. I think I had to come down off it slowly, but not sure since its been a few years...

I am not even close to a working dose if anything it helps my mood since coming of lexapro. When u came off basically u took nothing just learn that the pain was repressed emotions?

I stopped it because it messed with my mind so much, and that it was given to me to "prep" for my future nerve surgery to "condition" the nerves. I guess what that meant was it was given to me because doing a "nerve release surgery" was only going to cause, at least for a while lots of nerve pain. But I decided I didn't want such a drug in my system just to "reduce" a little pain.

It seemed to cause a general numbing, sedation, and cloudiness of my brain, which I didn't like. I was always increasing the dose. So as soon as I got used to it, I was to take more, and more. Sounds like for you though this has some benefits.

I stopped it before I found Sarno, to be clear. But when I got off it, the pain did not change. And I never had the surgery, thanks to Dr. Sarno.

Interesting my pain mostly is when i am off my feet its mostly in my toes and ball of foot mostly left . Radiating up my legs and when my legs and feet are ok it hits my fingertips and face. I am still able to run a few miles a week and bike but its always a constant.

I have taken a break from tms modalities and just focused in living my life as clean as possible

I took Lexapro for 5 days and It made my hair instantly fall out amd it has never growm back since two years ago when I took the Lex. That stuff is utter hell. Biggest regret of my life taking that stuff. In the world of TMS Id say lexapro triggered my symptoms - hair loss- and then the symptoms took a TMS life of their own and never got better. That's why I'm back on the wiki. Lex is poison for me. Seems like TMS has taken over where the LExapro left off. My TMS theory is that once I thought I was solving the depression problem with meds my symptoms just switched to hair loss. All docs and tests said I was normal and it was just "stress". Thoughts?

Hi, Beachgirl. I'm sorry you had such a bad reaction to Lexapro. I never tried it, just had some Librium a few years ago and that helped me a lot with anxiety. I don't take any medication now and I'm 85. I thank God for every day I can do my normal things. I trimmed some bushes this morning and felt a little back pain afterward, but one Advil made it go away.

As for hair loss, that can be a bummer for women (men seem to like being bald). Try wearing a cap. I like a Navy cap. If anyone asks about it, maybe say you joined the Navy. It's not what's on your head that matters. It's what's inside you that people like.
