I listen to this particular piece of music every night before I go to sleep. I find it to be extremely relaxing.

"Ralph Vaughan Williams - Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis"

Several years ago this was mentioned in a book I read and I adopted the nightly listening rhythm. I hope you find it relaxing, too.

This is slightly different than just sharing music, but one of my favorite songwriters is Aimee Mann, who had to go through her own mind-body recovery a few years ago. She talks about it here:

I totally did not expect and was greatly encouraged that one of my own personal heroes had gone through the same thing I was facing. TMS is far enough from the mainstream that I never expected to find that!

Lately I've been into the songs from the Magnolia film soundtrack and have been relating to this one as I work through some of my pessimistic thinking habits ("I'm condemning the future to death so it can match the past!")

I knew nothing about this composer, and the medieval inspiration behind this music is quite interesting, and it's also lovely.

Did you notice the shot of her phone at about 1:05 with the splash screen for the Curable app? :D

Perhaps check out this beautiful piece called The Lark Ascending. It's one of Vaughan Williams' most beloved works (at least here in the UK). He was inspired by George Meredith's poem of the same name—'Lark' refers to the skylark, a bird native to the British Isles. Vaughan Williams even wrote these lines from the poem at the top of the score:

He rises and begins to round,
He drops the silver chain of sound,
Of many links without a break,
In chirrup, whistle, slur and shake.

He rises and begins to round,
He drops the silver chain of sound,
Of many links without a break,
In chirrup, whistle, slur and shake.

For singing till his heaven fills,
'Tis love of earth that he instils,
And ever winging up and up,
Our valley is his golden cup
And he the wine which overflows
to lift us with him as he goes.

Till lost on his aerial rings
In light, and then the fancy sings.

Love Aimee Mann and agree Magnolia is a terrific soundtrack. My wife and I saw that film in the theaters. Thanks for posting the interview.
