Sarah, I also have sitting pain. I have TMS but was diagnosed with Pudendal Neuralgia. I'm experimenting with what works for me personally as well and that in itself can be frustrating but I'm constantly reminded that this is a slow process and to be patient. There are many different TMS schools of thought. Some people say journaling helps them, some of them say journaling did absolutely nothing for them but what helped them was creating safety and reducing fear not just in symptoms (for us sitting) but in life. Where else in your life do you feel unsafe? Maybe you need better boundaries with loved ones, in your career, etc. Dan Buglio and Rachel Gofman both say that journaling didn't work for them, it was 100% a fear/safety issue. I find Dan Bulgio's YT channel helpful. Rachel had been diagnosed with PN, back pain, migraines, etc and she was able to overcome it all by creating safety for herself. She did a success story on Dan's channel that you might find helpful here.

I don't necessarily think it's conflicting, it's about finding what works for YOU personally and that's where the frustration lies. Each one of us has our own specific journey of trial and error. For me, I've always felt unsafe in life. I lost both of my parents by the time I was 20 and had no other family, so fear and safety have been a major issue in my life. Right now I'm doing some journaling, and working on creating safety on a holistic level. Learning to FEEL my emotions (the actual sensations like anger, sadness, etc) and create safety by speaking to my brain and inner child, because little me is REALLY terrified that things won't work out.

I've done the journalling. I've allowed the emotions I've cried and screamed etc. I've done that yet no further forward
