    Various vaguely different conditions all starting with "spondylo..." are mentioned frequently by numerous people, but whose symptoms typically, eventually, are attributed to TMS in the same way that symptoms initially blamed on disc problems end up being attributed to TMS. In other words - is there a physical abnormality? Looks like it, yes. But is it responsible for the symptoms? Probably not.

    Sarno wrote about a back pain study where they compared x-rays of those who had back pain and those who did not. There was not statistical difference in abnormalities between two groups. If you don't have symptoms - you may be a lucky guy who does not need to go through the pain of Alan's recovery program and can graduate without even starting on it :=).
